Introducing Seattle

You’ve not tasted coffee until you’ve tried the world-renowned brews of the coffee capital. But that’s not all the Emerald City’s famous for. Dive into a foodie’s paradise as you explore its markets, marvel at its thriving arts and culture scene, and visit its  world-class attractions.

Things to do

FOOD AND DRINK
Scratch the surface of Seattle’s buzzing wine scene on a tasting shuttle tour. Head out to Woodinville Wine Country – with more than 100 wineries – or stay in the city and discover the urban tasting rooms. Satisfy your foodie cravings at Pike Place Market. Get the inside scoop on where the chefs shop, where the locals hang out and the little-known foodie gems with Eat Seattle’s guided tour.  You might even be tempted to top it all off with a craft beer – with more than 250 local brews to choose from, you’ll find your perfect match.

CULTURE
Spend hours reminiscing in the Museum of Pop Culture – designed by Frank Gehry, the building looks like a smashed guitar from above. If you’re feeling brave, take a helicopter ride over the city to see for yourself. In the evening, secure front row seats for the ballet at McCaw Hall, famed for its Nutcracker performance. Don’t leave without visiting the world’s first Starbucks Café at Pike Place Market – a great spot for a selfie.

LANDMARKS
A trip to Seattle isn’t complete without a visit to the Space Needle – or Smith Tower. Step into the manually operated elevators and take in the 360-degree view from the top. Travel between destinations on the monorail. Start in the city centre, weaving through the skyscrapers from the comfort of your carriage to reach downtown. And it’s worth making time to explore Pioneer Square; marvel at the Romanesque revival-style buildings, dive into hip side bars or visit beautiful Waterfall Garden Park.

Top Tip from SLH

Stop by the iconic Starbucks Reserve Roastery – a caffeine lover’s wonderland complete with its very own coffee library.
