HISTORY
Walk through the main square and learn about the city’s history by tracing its landmarks. The San José del Cabo church stands as a reminder of the Jesuit missionaries who settled in the city in the 1700s. Or, for an insight into some of the city’s remarkable figures, visit the Garden of Illustrious Cabeños.
CULTURE
Brimming with art galleries and studios, San José del Cabo is the proud home of an amazing collection of original paintings, sculptures, photography and jewellery. Stroll through the city’s renowned art district or attend one of the many creative workshops on offer at the Case de la Cultura.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
If you want a break from the region’s sandy white beaches, pay a visit to the San José del Cabo Estuary. A biological paradise, this nature reserve is home to humming birds, ibis and herons. Professional guides offer a range of activities to help you explore the landscape, from hiking to kayaking.
Between November and June, the art district hosts a weekly ‘Art Walk’ – visit the galleries after hours and meet some of the artists, while enjoying complimentary wine and snacks.
