At Hacienda Pena Pobre, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve left Mexico City behind for a country retreat. This 19th century hacienda turned boutique hotel stands close to Tlalpan Forest National Park, one of the city’s largest green spaces. Making it the perfect place from which to dip in and out of the fast pace of life in the Mexican metropolis.

With ornate iron work, white-framed windows and peach walls, Hacienda Pena Pobre’s exterior preserves the character of the original hacienda. Charming, Friendly Hospitality, Best Mix of Hotel and Residential Vibe

Staff is very nice. The entire place is beautiful. If you don't want the synthetic institutionalized hotel feel, but you want the convenience of hotel (because you're not into Airbnb or B&B), this is the best option, by far. If you want to enjoy the more authentic and special feel of southern parts of Read more[SPLIT]Read lessCDMX, the location is perfect. The rooms are great. The architecture by type makes sounds from patio and other rooms, plus it's in a relatively quiet street, so you are prone to a stay that is not best in "noise canceled" room. The staff followed up proactively with me on a lost item. Nice personal touch.

Quiet cozy getaway in hectic city

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and greatly enjoyed our stay. The main building is very nice and nicely decorated. The glass terrace is really enjoyable for (great) brakfast and a drink ( dinner options could be improved since there are very few options available in a close vicinity) Our suite was very Read more[SPLIT]Read lessspacious. Team at reception were helpful and friendly. Really a nice place to stay after staying in the heart of Mexico city; location is interesting with San angel and Coyoacan being 20 to 30mn away by car, and is on the way for xochimilco and/or Mixquic if you happen to come for Dia de Muertos as we did. A very enjoyable experience
