Actively sustainable luxury hotels

Environmentally Conscious

Heritage Le Telfair has partnered with Reef Conservation, a local NGO, on marine ecosystem conservation projects such as the installation of artificial reefs with coral fragments, and with Mauritius Wildlife Foundation to preserve native species present in the forests of Heritage Nature Reserve. The resort also runs a reforestation programme in partnership with Rogers, its parent company, to restore the Jacotet river banks. Within the resort, there are countless sustainable policies in place, from solar water heaters on its rooftops and electric guest vehicles to an in-house glass water bottling plant.

Cultural Custodians

Named after the famous Irish naturalist, Charles Telfair, who lived in the area in the 19th century, Heritage Le Telfair has been designed with the French colonial heritage of Mauritius in mind. The restoration of Le Château de Bel Ombre and its gardens was sympathetically done, while botanist Bertrand d’Unienville assisted the hotel on a recent survey of its landscape with the aim of introducing more endemic species to its grounds. Through its partnership with Agria, Heritage Le Telfair gives guests a ‘locavore’ experience by serving locally sourced, traditional Mauritian dishes in collaboration with nearby farmers.

Community Minded

Alongside organising regional job fairs, Heritage Le Telfair offers educational training programmes to the local youth at their Heritage Academy, a community centre specialising in hospitality and F&B courses delivered by the hotel staff to inspire young professionals. There is also a space within the hotel where local artisans can promote their crafts, such as hand-weaved basketworks. Heritage Le Telfair works closely with local creatives, including Fey Palmier, who makes plates using palm leaves, and in collaboration with Agria, a local agricultural enterprise which supplies Heritage chefs with seasonal produce from the Bel Ombre region.

Amazing hotel with amazing staff.

The hotel, from arrival up the palm lined road to the last look back at the pool and sea from reception on departure, was amazing. The staff really can't do enough for you and the personal hosts are just brilliant, thank you Bhavish and Oumila. Chef Karen had nothing but time, between preparing Annabellas' Read more[SPLIT]Read lessfood for all the guests, to sort meals for our children's "particular" diets. Golf was fantastic and club house staff were very attentive.

As we stay mostly in upper class fine hotels this is a top hotel. High class but no “high nose” resort from gardener I er housekeeping till management very friendly high hospitality services motivated staff with always a smile on the face!

Heritage Le Chateau

Built in the early nineteen century and set amidst hundred-year-old gardens this Manor house was the heart of the Bel Ombre Estate. A convivial dinner over a Mauritian gourmet meal. Heritage Le Chateau is ideal for weddings or special events and those occasions requiring an extraordinary setting. Children under 12 years old are not allowed. Upon reservation.

Annabella

Served Meals: Breakfast Our main restaurant at the heart of the resort serves breakfast and dinner from our interactive show kitchen where guests and the kitchen brigade enjoy a convivial atmosphere. Our renowned chefs have created a sophisticated daily changing set menu and a buffet with different specialties.

Le Palmier

Served Meals: Lunch, Dinner Overlooking the pool and the ocean and open from the morning till sunset. Enjoy Mediterranean style flavours from open wood fired oven or a range of refreshing beverages and exotic cocktails. Beach waiter service is also available.
